About Me
My Name is Peter Klein and I offer psychotherapy in English and German due to being of British / German descent.
Following the completion of my Psychology degree (BSc, Hons) and numerous counselling courses, I have engaged in extensive postgraduate training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (PGDip & MA). My initial training was at the Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre. After successfully completing this training, I further fostered my knowledge of mental health and psychotherapy by working for numerous years in various mental health settings. I completed my CBT training in Buckinghamshire New University. This course is one of only a handful that offers BABCP accredited Level 2 training. Thus I am fully accredited to practice Psychotherapy by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies (BABCP). BABCP accreditation represents the gold standard for behavioural and cognitive psychotherapists. |
My years of working as a full-time psychotherapist in world famous mental health facilities such as the Priory Hospital entailed the treatment of many difficulties ranging from Complex Personality Disorders, OCD and Schizophrenia. I have also run numerous treatment programmes at the world famous Priory Hospital and have published widely in both scientific journal and mainstream media outlets.
Further Information
The extensive nature of my training means that I incorporate many modern derivatives of CBT such as Schema Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. This allows me to effectively treat a great deal of problems.
I have published widely on above therapies and related aspects of psychology in broadsheets such as The Guardian and The Telegraph. A focus in many publications is on understanding mental health difficulties such as OCD and Anxiety whilst discussing how these can be best treated. Next to this I have published articles in Journals such as the BACP journal on how to develop evolutionary psychology that it becomes applicable in a group therapy setting. |
I have been practicing as a Psychotherapist since 2012 and have treated a wide demographic ranging from students to different types of decision makers. Next to face to face based sessions, I also am experienced in offering online and telephone therapy. Research has shown that remote psychotherapy is as effective as in-person CBT, with the benefit of being in the comfort of one's own environment. I also offer more bespoke approaches such as home visits or business workshops for different problems ranging from stress and anxiety to OCD. Do not hesitate to contact me should you wish to discuss this.
